FAQ

What is coaching?

Through conversation, a coach can help another person move their thinking along and gain insight in a way that helps them get closer to their goals. A coaching conversation is usually a dedicated space to explore challenges, in sharp contrast to most other conversations people have in their daily lives.

What is coaching not?

Coaching is not mentoring or counselling. Coaching is a place to learn together with your coach, not to learn from them and their experience.

How is coaching organised?

Coaching is organised through a series of conversations, scheduled with your coach. Typically, a block of coaching is between 6-12 sessions, over 6-12 months. We begin with a no-commitment introductory session, and then pricing is on a monthly basis depending on the number of sessions.

What do people get out of coaching?

Studies have looked at people’s responses to coaching and what they got from the experience. Despite the huge range of scenarios in which people choose coaching, they’ve reported a range of similar experiences, including:

  • bringing clarity to a situation

  • a safe and independent non-judgemental space

  • honest feedback

  • increased insight

  • a supportive relationship that isn’t found elsewhere

Is coaching for me?

Coaching isn’t for everyone, and it’s crucial to begin a series of coaching sessions with the right expectations! Unlike mentoring, coaching isn’t a place to get given answers to your questions, or even to tell you what to talk about. It requires commitment to use coaching effectively, but it can drive change in the way you live and work.

Can I stop if I am not satisfied?

Yes, you’re able to stop at any time if you’re unhappy with the process.

Are you qualified as a coach?

Yes! I’ve completed a 1-year Undergraduate Certificate in Coaching from the University of Cambridge.
